Teens seek individual therapy for a variety of reasons, including:
-
School and peer stress and/or conflict
-
feeling hopeless, worthless, overwhelmed, or misunderstood
-
worry about the future or obsession about the past
-
feeling stuck, exhausted, never good enough, or lost
-
being unsure of how to move forward or what decision to make next
-
eating issues or body image issues
-
strained familial relationships
-
attention deficit problems or other behavioral issues
-
grief, loss, or trauma

I understand that everyone's journey is unique, which is why I tailor my approach to meet the specific needs and goals of each client. In individual sessions I can help you learn healthy coping strategies for life's daily stressors, healthy relationship building skills, and ways to set healthy boundaries for yourself with others. Individual therapy can help you learn about yourself and increase your own self-confidence and love for self. Family therapy may be a part to help adolescents with stressors at home and/or strained relationships. Growth occurs inside and outside of the therapy session and will take daily work to achieve your goals. In person sessions may include the use of interactive activities and art techniques to help move through processing and learn new skills to ultimately reach your individual goals.

I work with adolescents from age 13 and up. I welcome a diverse spectrum of individuals including men, women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and individuals with varying religious and political beliefs.
